Clinical Neuropsychology is a specialty focusing on the brain and its functions. The licensed and Board Certified psychologist will evaluate the brain structures and systems through objective testing of the brain’s memory and cognitive ability. Through these tests, the Psychologist can determine the weaker areas of the brain’s functioning and can make recommendations or provide treatment so that the patient can function at a higher level.  

Neuropsychological evaluations are requested by your doctors and other professionals to help them understand how the different areas and systems of your brain are working. There are a number of indicators that may lead you or your doctor toward Neuropsychological testing or therapy. Some of the main symptoms or complaints involve poor memory, thinking, organization, reasoning, perception or coordination. This form of testing will be helpful in understanding your needs as your symptoms may be due to any number of medical, neurological, psychological or genetic causes.
